How should I position my camera?
Position the DriveScape dashcam as close to the center of the windshield and as high up as possible for the best view of the road and your back seat.
In most vehicles, DriveScape can be placed behind the rearview mirror, so it doesn’t obstruct your field of view. However, it's important to make sure the cameras are not blocked by the rearview mirror or other equipment when you install. Once you install your DriveScape dashcam, it is difficult to move, so find the best place before sticking it to your windshield.
Utilize the Live Preview feature to optimally position your dashcam during onboarding, allowing you to see near real-time feeds from both road and cabin cameras for precise placement on the windshield.
How do you power the DriveScape camera?
Use the provided 12V power cable to power DriveScape from your vehicle. Drivescape’s power port is located at the top-right of the unit near the hinge.
How do I know if my Bookmark Button is activated and ready to use?
If the Bookmark Button light turns red when you press it, your button has successfully been activated and is ready to use.
If the light doesn’t turn red, press and hold the button for 3 seconds to activate. The red indicator light may be faint in bright daylight. Use your hand to create shade and see if it is lighting up.
If the light still doesn’t turn red, contact us at: DriveScape-support@cmtelematics.com.
Does DriveScape use my phone’s data?
No. The DriveScape dashcam has its own mobile data plan and sends video to the cloud independently of your cell phone.
Like any other smartphone app, the DriveScape mobile app that you installed on your phone will use your phone data or wifi to access and play video.
Does the dashcam use an SD card?
No. The DriveScape dashcam stores all videos internally. All recorded videos are transmitted wirelessly for your convenience.
Additionally, you can download videos of your choice to your mobile phone using the download button in the DriveScape app.
