What do the icons on the LED display mean?
The DriveScape unit has four lights. Starting at the top left, and going clockwise, the lights are:
- Road Camera - Green when the camera is recording
- Cabin Camera - Green when the camera is recording
- Getting Ready - Yellow when DriveScape dashcam is booting up
- Alert - Red when something is wrong. Make sure the charging cable is connected.
Why are there no LED lights in my DriveScape dashcam while onbording?
If no LEDs appear after 30 seconds, press and hold the power button on the device for 3-5 seconds. You should see the orange LED within 2 minutes. After that, the orange LED should turn off and the green LEDs should turn on within 1 minute. If, not contact DriveScape-support@cmtelematics.com for further help.
Why is my DriveScape dashcam making a noise?
Occasionally, the DriveScape dashcam needs to cool itself with a fan to prevent overheating. The fan may make some noise when it is on.
Why are my videos or drives not showing up in the app?
Your DriveScape dashcam needs to be plugged in and your car turned on to get your videos and/or drives uploaded in the app. Expected videos can be 1 minute button presses or hard braking clips that get automatically uploaded. You can also request 5 minute clips from any of your drives via the app.
Please note that videos or drives recorded on the same day may not be immediately visible in the app. They will be uploaded during your next drive when the dashcam is powered on and green lights are on.
Why am I unable to hear any sound from my recordings?
If you are using an iOS device, please ensure that your phone is not in Silent mode by adjusting the Ring/Silent switch located on the top left edge of the phone.You won't hear audio in the DriveScape app recordings if Silent mode is enabled.
Switch your phone to Ring mode and tap the sound icon when playing the cabin camera video to enable sound in the DriveScape app.
Can I turn my DriveScape dashcam off?
The DriveScape dashcam records video when it is plugged into power, you’re on the road, and you’ve agreed to record video. To turn video recording off for personal time, visit the Camera Settings screen in the Help tab of your DriveScape dashcam app.
