When are DriveScape videos sent from the dashcam to Uber?
A DriveScape recording is sent to Uber when you file an incident report through the Help section in the Uber app and request that Uber review the recording. Additionally, for Drivescape 360 pilot participants, a video is sent when a potential crash, crash or hard braking is identified while you are online.
How do I ask Uber to retrieve and view my video for a certain ride?
If you would like to share video with Uber for a crash or safety incident with a rider:
- Go to the Help section in the Driver app
- Select the safety issue you’d like to report
- When given the option to “Share dashcam video?” make sure the toggle is on Yes
- To ensure you’re able to submit footage, do this as soon as possible after the safety incident so the footage is still available on the DriveScape dashcam.
Make sure your DriveScape is powered on. Your video will automatically be sent to Uber Support for review.
How do I know if video is successfully being recorded and that it will be available if I report an incident to Uber?
If the video is successfully recording, then the road and/or cabin DriveScape dashcam lights will be green.
- If there is no light, it is not recording.
- If the light is red, plug the dashcam into power to start recording.
How much time do I have to report an incident in the Uber app to have its video sent to Uber?
Report incidents in the Uber app as soon as possible. The DriveScape dashcam stores up to one week of video at a time, so make sure to report your incident before the video is deleted from your dashcam.
Can I report an incident and send Uber the video after I took some other rides?
Yes, though it’s best to report an incident in the Uber app as soon as possible to ensure the video is uploaded before it is deleted from your dashcam.
Incidents will be automatically deleted from your dashcam after one week.
