Why does a hard brake trigger a video?
Hard braking could indicate a crash or accident. We want to make sure you have video evidence of any crashes.
How does the Bookmark Button work?
Pressing the Bookmark Button will send a 1 minute video to the cloud that you can watch on the DriveScape dashcam app. The video includes footage from the 30 seconds before you pushed the Bookmark Button and continues for 30 seconds after the button push.
How much video is saved when I press the Bookmark Button?
When you press the Bookmark Button, video from the next 30 seconds will be saved. This 30 second video will be combined with 30 seconds of video from right before the Bookmark Button was pressed, for a total of 1 minute of video.
Can I send a video of longer than 1 minute?
You can currently trigger a 1 minute of video by pressing the Bookmark Button (30 seconds before and 30 seconds after you press it). This video will automatically start uploading and it will appear in the app.
You can however request a 5 minute video via the app from any listed drives. In the Drives tab, choose the drive you are interested in and scroll through the Road and Cabin camera carousel images. Highlight the cabin or road camera image thumbnail with the desired start time of your video and request a 5 minute video.
Can I request video from personal time later?
If you get in a crash, DriveScape automatically captures that video.
If you want to capture a video on personal time but forgot to press the button, then you can later retrieve a 5-minute clip from your drives within seven days.
Is anyone watching my video stream in real time?
No. The DriveScape dashcam does not have the capability to livestream video to other parties.
The Live Preview feature is available in your app during onboarding and can only be accessed by you. Please note that Uber can only see videos that you’ve requested them to review. The DriveScape cloud is secure and nobody from Uber or CMT can watch your videos in real time.
