What information do my riders get about DriveScape?
Your riders will be notified in their Uber app that you have a dashcam and that their ride will be recorded, in order to encourage them to treat you and your vehicle with respect.
Your riders never see video from any rides.
The window stickers included in the DriveScape box will also let them and any guest riders know their trip is being recorded, and help you comply with any local laws regarding recording.
I drive with Uber and use another rideshare app. Will my other rideshare trips be recorded with DriveScape?
DriveScape only integrates with Uber at this time. Any rides that are taken when you are online with other rideshare apps are treated like personal time.
Do I have to use the recording stickers?
Yes. The window stickers included in the DriveScape box let your riders know their trip is being recorded, and help you comply with any local laws regarding recording. Place these stickers on your vehicle windows so they are clearly visible to your riders. If you stop using the dashcam or are deactivated from the Uber platform, remove these stickers from your vehicle.
What happens after the 12 month pilot period?
At the conclusion of the pilot, DriveScape may choose to discontinue the dashcam service. If the program is continued, you may choose to leave or stay in the program based on new terms and conditions.
What happens if I delete the DriveScape dashcam app?
If you delete the DriveScape dashcam app, you will no longer be able to view your recordings but it will not affect your ability to share a recording with Uber, which is done via the Uber driver app. Keep the DriveScape app installed to provide easy access to view your recordings and contact support.
Can a rider request a video from my DriveScape dashcam be sent to Uber?
No. You are in control of the videos Uber can see. Only you can request that a video is sent to Uber from the Uber driver app.
What is the return policy?
By purchasing a dashcam, you agree to pay $5 (plus tax) per month for a 12-month period ($60 plus tax in total). This 12-month, monthly fee is non cancellable.
Drivers can leave the program by contacting drivescape-support@cmtelematics.com or can stop using the dashcam at any time but will be responsible for paying any remaining balance due ($5/month for 12 months, a total of $60 plus tax).
